Having just been scored a sensational 99 points by Antonio Galloni, I am delighted to offer the new 2019 Siepi from celebrated Italian producers Mazzei.
The Mazzei family owns 117 hectares of vine, divided in 120 parcels all harvested by hand. Grapes are vinified and matured separately in order to add complexity to the wines.
Siepi is their Super Tuscan made with an equal blend of Sangiovese and Merlot from vineyards at around 850ft and aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels, 70% of it being new. Powerful and complex with great concentration of fruits.

GBP 408 IB per 6x75cl (10 cases available)
The 2019 Siepi continues a trend towards greater finesse and nuance in this wine. Crème de cassis, lavender, spice, licorice and plum meld together effortlessly in the glass. Dense and layered, with striking detail, the 2019 is so impressive. The flavors are bright, bold and punchy. An exceptionally beautiful and riveting wine, the 2019 is rich and concentrated, but not at all heavy. What a total knock-out. 99 points Antonio Galloni, Vinous
