2016 Parusso Barolo "Selezione Grandivigne" Mixed Cases

Having started in 1901 as a family of farmers, the Parussos have grown their vineyard holdings over the last hundred years to eventually became a family of vintners. Respect of territory and nature is fundamental for them in order to build a perfect symbiosis with the earth. Besides the traditional techniques, they have developed the micro-zoning technique of soils based on the personalization of different plots, and the utilization of specific fertilizations, and pruning methods, depending on the kind of soil where the vineyard is located.

Each vineyard is different from the adjacent one; in structure, composition, exposure, altitude, microclimate and is diligently worked, in order to favour its natural character, giving wines that express the terroir from which they come. The Bussia stands out for its finesse thanks to the chalky, marly white soil, it is most distinguished in terms of elegance.

I am delighted to offer these unique and incredibly priced mixed cases containing two bottles of each of Parusso’s top wines from the wonderful 2016 vintage:-

2016 Parusso Barolo “Selezione Grandivigne” Case
    (Contains 2 x Bussia, 2 x Mosconi and 2 x Mariondino)
GBP 350 IB per case of 6x75cl (10 available)

    Bussia
Marco Parusso's 2016 Barolo Bussia brings together all the best elements of his style and year in a wine that is simply brilliant. Sweet floral notes, dark red fruit, mint, blood orange and spice infuse the 2016 with myriad layers of complexity. A bold, dramatic Barolo made from Rocche and Munie fruit, the 2016 is going to need a number of years to be at its best. 96+ points Antonio Galloni, Vinous Feb 2020

    Mosconi
The 2016 Barolo Mosconi shows all the breadth and richness that is typical of this Monforte site. Dark fruit, chocolate, spice, new leather, menthol, sage and crushed rocks build in an explosive, tannic Barolo that is going to need at least a few years in bottle to come together. Powerful, deep and resonant, this dark, brooding Barolo has a ton to offer. 95 points Antonio Galloni, Vinous Feb 2020

    Mariondino
The 2016 Barolo Mariondino is another potent, heady wine in this range. The red fruit and floral notes typical of this site emerge, but the Mariondino is big and very dark in 2016. Like all of these Barolos, the Mariondino is built for the long haul. In most vintages, Mariondino is a Barolo of sensuality but the 2016 is a real powerhouse. Time in the glass brings out red fruit and floral notes, but this is an XL Barolo. 94 points Antonio Galloni, Vinous Feb 2020
