With over 30 years combined experience in the fine wine trade, Taro Crump, Jim Richmond & Tim Shaw have worked for some of the oldest and most prestigious merchants in the UK - from royal warrant holders Corney & Barrow to pioneering traders Fine+Rare and many more. Jim studied for his MBA in Wine Business Administration at The Royal Agricultural College, whilst Taro's and Tim’s passions developed via the more traditional routes of the shop floor and wine bars respectively.
Taro, Jim & Tim have spent the last decade working closely together (both as colleagues and competitors) to establish many longstanding relationships with suppliers, domaines and châteaux across the world. Their expertise not only encompass the traditional markets of Europe, but also the high end new world wines of the USA, Australia and South America… Not to mention excellent access to many rare spirits.
Crump, Richmond & Shaw was finally founded in 2014 to realise their shared determination to source fine wines with perfect provenance and at wholesale prices for a global customer base of private clients, wine merchants and investment funds.
How We Work
Crump Richmond and Shaw offer a full broking service, sourcing tens of thousands of wines from a carefully curated list of suppliers. Our margins are lower than traditional merchants, thus offering wines to you at the best possible prices. We are brokers, not stock holders, so our vast list of wines at wholesale prices is constantly changing. We typically work within a 4-12 week delivery window before your wines are available at our bonded warehouse, although we will endeavour to have them for you as quickly as possible.
Search our full list here, or look for a particular case here. Once you make an enquiry through our website, a member of our sales team will contact you asap, to discuss all your options, including shipping times and delivery.
All logistical matters are dealt with by Caoilinn Hanna, who joined us in 2015 as our Head of Operations from Fine+Rare. Caoilinn brings many years of experience in fine wine and a number of relationships with specialist freight forwarders, ensuring your wine is handled in the most professional manner. Graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with a degree in Economics and Finance she developed her love of fine wine on placement with Diageo and further developed this whilst living and working in Bordeaux before moving to London in 2012.
